Yes,

Well,
we're here! At long last, the site has its
own domain, no banner ads, and some proper
e-mail addresses... you can now reach me
at artslave@durantimeline.com!
I'm
doing my best to make sure that all of the
Timeline's functions (navigation, search,
etc) still work properly, while adding a
few new goodies along the way. Please let
me know if you run across something that's
not working!
There
is a new Navigation Frame available, for
those who prefer having a menu bar -- just
click Frames
Version at the top of each page.

My
one and only ad...and my only source of
income on this site:
Looking
for a web host?

Need
lots of space without lots of hassles? I've
been very happy with www.NoMonthlyFees.com,
and they've got some great selling points:
You get 500
megs,
great bandwidth, free domain name, tons
of features, tons of support -- and you
can't beat the price.
It's
a one-time
$200 set-up fee,
plus a once-a-year $35 domain maintenance
fee. Nothing else -- no monthly fees ever!
(And if you can't do the $200 all at once,
you can choose to pay $15.95 a month instead
-- for all the same stuff -- until you're
ready to switch over to the Lifetime Membership.)
Please check
it out today!!

I'll just insert the actual entry into this

|
I received a "Site of The Week Award"
from Anita Potter's very cool site "My
Duran Duran Universe" -- a long-running
but recently updated and relocated central
collection of every conceivable Duran Duran
weblink, lovingly collected by hand. So I've
added an Awards
page to my site! :) |
|
11/15/01
|
The
20m free site limitations also included
cutting off my FTP access. I'm now trying
to update the site using their web-based
file manager, which, to put it politely,
"blows."
Stay
tuned for new server (sigh).
|
|
11/6/01
|
Playing
with some changes to the navigation; still
working on getting the site set up on its
new server -- many more content updates
to come, I promise!
There
is a new 1977 date on the Pre-History
page -- one of John's first live shows with
Shock Treatment!
|
|
10/22/01
|
Heart-stopping
news -- for me, anyway! Katy Krassner wrote
to tell me that Nick had spent some time
perusing the site, and pronounced it "VERY
cool" -- which makes me more happy
than I can say!
|
|
10/15/01
|
The
20m free web server, which has served
me pretty well so far, has decided to put
some pretty sharp limits on file size for
their free accounts. That requires me to
split my largest page (U.S. Concert Dates,
go figure) into two parts: Alabama
through Montana and Nebraska
through Wisconsin. The change is reflected
in the Site Map.
Since
20m wants to charge a fairly stiff
price for the memory, file size, and reports
I was getting before for free, I will be
moving this site very soon to a new paid
server, with a proper "DuranTimeline.Com"
domain name. If you'd like to be notified
when this happens, please join my Updates
Mailing List.
|
|
10/12/01
|
Just
a few minor updates for now -- a new concert
date, a venue for a date in 1981
(!), more precise dates on all of the band's
'Top of The Pops' appearances, and some
spelling and grammar corrections throughout.
|
|
9/21/01
|
I've
gotten some interesting new dates on the
production and promotion of 'Liberty' and
'Decade' from Duran producer John Jones,
and from prolific contributor Aub -- see
1988, 1989,
and 1990.
|
|

Light a Candle
|
Sorry
for the long delay without updates;
it has been a harrowing month for
all of us, I think. Just about the
time that I was ready to begin my
next major batch of updates, the world
fell apart. I'm just getting myself
together again now -- there'll be
more updates soon.
Thank
you for your patience.
